Feel Good Friday: Rescue the Ducks!

It's no secret we love ducks around here. When I came across no less than three saved duckling stories this week, I just knew I had to share them. We've done Feel Good Friday before, so here's Feel Good Friday, duck style.

3 Saved in Ann Arbor
They couldn't tell at first why the mother duck wouldn't lead her 7 ducklings out of the parking lot. They tried shooing them away, but the mother just became more frantic. Eventually they discovered that three other ducklings had slipped down through a sewer grate. Using a colander, the ducklings were scooped to safety and sent on their way.

The mother duck raised the alarm at the crack of dawn - her nine ducklings had been swept into the sewer drain. Luckily Steve and his four year old son were able to rescue the ducklings, and ever last one was returned safe and sound.

Finally, we bring it home to Wisconsin. Sewer grates are treacherous grounds for little ducks this time of year. After four ducklings fell into a supermarket grate, the supermarket employees tracked down the Green Bay Duck Hunter's Association. They were able to climb into the sewer and rescue three out of four ducklings that fell prey to the grate. Here's a video of the fluffy rescued duckies, who were then returned to their duckling siblings and mother.
