What is a backflow preventer device? A backflow preventer device is a plumbing fixture that prevents contamination of water supplies by means of cross connections. They are installed in locations required by the state, and cannot be removed.
How do I know if I have one? Backflow preventers are required to be registered with the state. You can look it up online, or if you don’t have yours tested the state will send you a letter reminding you to do so. No. Generally a cross connection inspection can be completed without any disruption to normal business activities and processes. Why are cross connection inspections required?
