The day was filled with some very interesting presentations. The agenda included a presentation where Jack Saltes with the DNR managed to make even the CMOM program engaging. If anyone can do it - it's him!
During the business meeting, I was happy to be reelected to the steering committee in a tight race (two positions open, two people on the ballot). This was a bittersweet moment, as Terry Vanden Heuvel of Merrill WWTP, who has been the President of the region for many years, stepped down. The region has been greatly enriched by Terry's ideas and stewardship over the years. I will definitely miss his leadership.
After a fantastic lunch and two more presentations, we were packing up for the plant tour and to go home. Overall, these meetings are a great away to spend a day with great people and learn a little something. We'll see you in Wausau this winter!
