Recently the plant went through a $10 million dollar upgrade. While most water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades pretty much solely focus on the equipment, restoration of the building was also a primary goal. Those who work inside are both operators and caretakers of this magnificent plant.
The building is a hidden gem of the community that is mostly inconspicuous from the outside. When the community held a fundraiser inside the plant, those were the hot tickets in town, and they raised $15,000 for the upgrade project.
Visitors to the plant are greeted by a large statue of Aquarious as they enter the plant.
