There were a lot of great speakers, but Kevin Morley with AWWA was a stand out for me. He gave a brief overview and I left with a page full of notes of things to follow up on - always a great sign of a presentation.
In the beginning, he shared four questions as things to consider when looking at SCADA systems. I really liked them, because they help zero in on how to think about security in our SCADA systems. I thought I'd share them here - I can see how these will help start great conversations.
- How would utility operations change if the process control system is compromised?
- What steps have been taken to secure SCADA networks?
- Has a cyber security vulnerability assessment been performed?
- What are the consequences of doing nothing?
