This last Wednesday was pretty cool, because the engineers at ShinMaywa came to our shop to go over the training required for us to become an authorized ShinMawya Service Center. While we have been impressed by the performance of the ShinMaywa pumps, and have seen the beefy construction of the pump in the cutaway, it was very interesting to see the pump broken down. The design of the pump is very impressive, and to hear the design decisions from the engineers themselves was enlightening. The designers of this pump take the quality of the pump very seriously.
For example, of all the installations in America, there has only been one seal fail. Based on the number of pumps of other manufactures that we rebuild because of seal fails around here, I would say this is a pretty common lift station pump problem. When that seal failed, instead of just replacing the seal, ShinMaywa pulled the pump, put in a brand new pump, and sent the pump with the failed seal back to the factory so it could be evaluated as to what exactly went wrong to further prev
