While I was poking around the internet today I found this story and thought it was perfect to warm up our hearts on this cold Friday. Two wastewater operators were working on a sewer line and found a class ring. They tracked down the owner, and were surprised to find that it belonged to a 85 year old woman who lost it down the toilet in 1947! What's the weirdest or coolest thing you've ever found in a lift station?

The WWOA Annual Conference always treats us well. If you're looking for evidence, there's no need to look further than our recap of 2010, 2011, and 2012 for proof of that. 2013 was no exception!
I enjoy that WWOA moves it's conferences around the state, and this year we were right in our backyard in Stevens Point. While it was a little bit smaller venue than the big conferences are normally at, it was fun to change the scenery up. My expectations on attendance were completely surpassed, and we stayed pretty solidly busy. It goes so fast when there's so many people around who we like to talk to, and before I knew it was time to go home. Keeping with my theme of 2013 and trade shows, I took exactly zero pictures of us at the conference. We were excited to have Todd join us in the B&M booth, and I know a lot of his customers were excited to see where he is now. If you missed him at the conference, remember you can always get ahold of him here. A new product that were were happy to feature at the conference was the Eastech iTracker. Looking for ways to track your I&I? The iTracker was developed as a cost-effective tool pinpoint unwanted sources of I&I at a fraction of the expense of conventional methods. We've had great experience with Eastech, and we're excited to be offering this new product. Since the conference fell so close to Halloween this year, we gave away these cute Halloween ducks that we teased you with a couple weeks ago. We had a drawing at the booth for $100, and were excited to draw Ashley from Muscoda Utilities' name! I'm really grateful for all of those hardworking volunteers who helped make the conference fantastic. We'll see you next year in Green Bay! |
