He has also been involved in organizing and hosting 2 regional meetings in his village. He takes great pride in his work as the manager of the WWTF of his village and its continued high quality plant performance to meet effluent standards. The WWTF has recently won the Registered Lab of the year award from the DNR, demonstrating his dedication for a well run highly efficient plant. He has always gone "the extra step" as an officer of the NCR North Central region promoting the WWOA organization and encouraging others to get involved. He is very passionate about his work in the wastewater profession and is always willing to offer advice, experiences or help in any he can. He is very Knowledgeable in all aspects of wastewater treatment At this time I would like to name this years North Central Operator of the Year, Chris Helgestad from the Village of Spencer WWTF."
Ron from Marshfield and I had a great time surprising Chris (Spencer WWTP) at the Village of Spencer board meeting with the Operator of the Year award. Chris was unable to make it to the WWOA Annual Conference, so we made our way to Spencer. It was great to give Chris recognition in front of the board and his family. Congratulations to Chris for a well-deserved honor! From the award presentation:
