Although I had a good feeling going into the day, the Outdoor Expo surpassed my expectations this year.  What is there to say?  Most important, there was a terrific turnout of both vendors and operators.  We were able to have some really great conversations with a current customers and partners and those we look forward to working with in the future.

There were interesting and fun activities and demonstrations going on all day.  The time flew by and there was always something going on somewhere.  I'm not sure how you can go wrong with pork barbecue, and the lunch was delicious.  My prayers were answered, and we had fantastic weather - not a cloud or raindrop in sight this year.  It was actually so nice I was completely ready for my turn in the dunk tank when the time came.  I had a great time taking somewhere between 10-20 (I know that is a broad range, but we all lost count) dips in the dunk tank and we raised somewhere around $82 in 40 minutes.

The raffle also seemed to do really well this year.  I walked through towards the end of the day and there all the buckets seemed to have a lot of tickets.  We were very happy to give away $100 cash to Vicki Bey.

All in all, I still stand by my assertion that this is one of the best events in the industry every year.  See you next year!

The WRWA Outdoor Expo is just one week away - August 25th.  Are you going to be there?  We'll be there - this year our booth will be over by registration/donuts and coffee.  Make sure you stop by and see us!  If you're on the fence or haven't been there before, I definitely would recommend checking this show out.  It's looking like it is going to be bigger then ever this year, and there are lots of great things planned.  Today I wanted to give you heads up on a fun activity that is new this year.

The Expo committee (on which I sit) decided it would be fun to try out having a dunk tank.  I was asked to take a turn sitting in it and of course I said yes.  Why?  Because it's for a very good cause (money raised goes to support WRWA).  And because I sit on the Expo committee and voted for it in the first place.  Plus, with the summer we're having (fingers crossed for a hot and sunny day), a dunk or two in the middle of day will feel pretty good.  Finally, it just sounds fun and I don't want to be a killjoy, would you?

So here's the challenge - we need more people to take turns sitting in it.  You don't want to be a killjoy either, so get someone from your company to take a turn!  Besides, I bet I can raise more money sitting in it than you can.  Up for the challenge?  Contact Janis at WRWA to get the details.

The aim of the operators can't be that good, right?  Yep, that's a challenge to you guys too!

See you there!
